This part significantly reduces wind buffeting noise at highway speeds with the front windows all the way open. This wind noise or wind buffeting is also known as Helmholtz resonance.Â
Wind buffeting is particularly bad on 2 door vehicles, but anyone in a 4 door will also notice the helicopter-like noise in your inner ear when you open just the front windows.Â
This part is most effective from 0-80mph. Above 80mph the buffeting noise will begin to overcome this parts ability to reduce the resonance. Cross winds can also reduce their effectiveness. These work best when they are diverting air flow from vehicle movement.
This is designed for USDM models. It may not fit international models outside of North America
IMPORTANT NOTE: As with any aerodynamic part, other parts upstream on the exterior of the car can effect this part’s function. Splitters, endplates, tire spats, hood vents, fender vents can all change airflow feeding into this part. Our testing was done on a car with our V3 aero kit, fender and hood vents. Your results may vary.Â
Our serrated design is more effective than the small curved profiles you commonly see on Supra's, and Porsche's to combat this noise. Those options do reduce wind noise at some speeds, however they often cause noise at lower speeds. Their effectiveness tapers off above 70mph in most cases (Go read product reviews if you don't believe it).Â

Made of 3D printed satin black UV resistant ABS composite plastic. Adheres to the front triangle window with included 3M VHB tape. The inside edge is contoured to match the curve of the window, and a pocket recessed into the surface for the VHB tape. The side mirrors can still be folded with this installed.Â
Why 3d print this? Because it keeps this part affordable for everyone. Most people don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on milled plastic or carbon versions for a part this small.
You can lightly sand and paint this plastic if you prefer gloss black finish.Â

Want to further reduce wind noise on track at higher speeds? Add some vortex generators to the A-pillar from our friends at Yeti Race Craft. These compliment our diffusers function and will also reduce drag at higher speeds.Â

I'm really not sure why VW called the wind buffeting on mk7s 'good enough'. But they did and here's a super viable solution! I'm shocked at how well these work and only wish I had thought to look for them earlier. Thank you for coming up with these and being an awesome seller to buy from!
The product is an absolute gem. My car is a VW GTI 2019 se. these wind deflectors have changed the driving experience by a 1000%. Would recommend these to anyone that wants to reduce wind noise.
Well, On my 2015 Golf it helps quiet the buffeting with the windows down, which is nice, but the wind noise is the same or even a bit worse with the windows up. I got it in hopes of wind noise reduction on the freeway. Oh well. What is strange is that my wife's Golf of the same year does not have the driver's side wind noise that mine does. Can't for the life of me find any trim, mirrors or door seams amiss.

After installing these wind buffeting diffusers I noticed a significant change in interior noise. Having a 2dr GTI the air is deflected into the back seat more which my dog loves.
Perfect, works as advertised - you can still hear the wind, but it's not slamming you in the face anymore. Seems to work better at faster speeds.
...and the "teeth" look badass from the driver's angle...
Not too spendy for the product and had fast shipping.
instructions were very clear and came with the wipes to ensure a clean mating surface. Stuck them on and applied some pressure to make sure they were on well.
Noticed a small difference going highway speeds and haven't had any issues with them falling off.
I love being able to drive with the windows open without the wind buffeting. Would buy again
These work pretty well! With the 2 door the buffeting was pretty bad, these clean it right up!
Plus they make my gti look like the batmobile
Worked fine at reducing wind noise, but the adhesive did not hold well at all. Maybe it was too cold out? Currently looking for a suitable adhesive, either some rubber epoxy or CA glue

Sorry to hear you had issues. We will be adding some install tips in the box moving forward.
This VHB tape is rated to hold 50lbs when adhered fully. The cold climate can reduce the tackiness of the tape until it is applied with pressure. If you have a garage, try applying the replacement diffusers after the car is inside overnight. Alternatively, you can run the defrost for 10-15 mins to heat up the windows so they are at least 60* F. That should provide better conditions for the tape to cure properly.
The part should be pressed and held in place for at least a full minute on each side. Pressure helps the tape adhere more evenly to both surfaces.
Last, after installing them, do not drive the car for at least an hour to allow the tape to bond. It does not reach full strength until 24hrs after being applied.

Like the quality of the product. Only issue I had was the plastic in the double sided tape was almost impossible to tear away. Only reason I have it 4 stars
I took a chance with these as nothing on the site proved their effectiveness, but CJM has yet to fail me and they didn’t start here. Not only to they give a significant decrease in wind noise and buffeting, but they provide an aggressive yet subtle look to the GTI. A must buy for all GTI owners in my opinion!

I bought these for track days with my golf r since the track requires the front windows be down while racing. The diffusers eliminated the buffeting and kept the wind from being a distraction, especially at high speeds. I would definitely recommend.
And I've done a lot of mods to it.
A part that took all of about 30 seconds to install, has almost completely resolved one of my biggest quality of life complaints about this car.
I cannot overstate how much of an improvement this made on the amount of the buffeting that I experienced at highway speeds. It's honestly staggering.
My only complaint about these diffusers is that I didn't know about this sooner.
Easiest mod ever… I’d you drive with your window down and feel like your ears are going to pop from that odd sound… these are the best option available for mk7 Golf’s
I was pleasantly surprised at how effective they are are fixing the issue. Imagine that now I can cruise with my windows down.
And Birds won't land on my small windows anymore ! Lol
